Juiced Riders ODK Cargo Bike V3 is here!

Written by Jerry on . Posted in Uncategorized

The V2 cargo bike from Juiced Riders has been a big hit with customers over the past two years. Now that the newer V3 has arrived, we expect it to be just as, and possibly even more, popular with our customers for many good reasons.

Upgrades include an even larger capacity (22AH!) battery, hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, integrated tail light, alloy chainguard, improved throttle response, and front frame mounts to accept Juiced Riders’ hefty custom front basket. The Bafang motor has been refined for smoother, quieter performance especially upon start-up. Additional features include a USB charge port on the battery for your small electronic devices, an improved Promax quick release seat post clamp, and lighter inner tubes with puncture resistant sealant inside.

This bike appeals on so many levels. Its the most powerful bike in the shop, ready to tackle the toughest hills. Its low step through frame and smaller wheels makes it easy to manage for even the shortest of riders. The V3 is priced at $3199 which puts it right in line with the Yuba Mundo and the soon-to-be-released Stretch Cargo Bike from Pedego. We were initially a bit concerned about such a big upgrade and price increase over the V2s, but now that we have the V3s on hand, the improvements clearly merit the new price. A good bike has become a great one, solidifying Juiced Riders’ place amongst the leaders of the ever expanding e-bike pack. This is an unique and distinctive e-bike that deserves a good long look.

The Value of Electric Bikes in Hilly Communities

Here’s an article that highlights the efficacy of electric bikes in the hilly town of Brattleboro, Vermont. All the same points apply to us here in Ashland as well as most of the southern Oregon/northern California region. Its a short enjoyable read. Check it out:

Cycling Apparel has Arrived

Written by Jerry on . Posted in Uncategorized

We are loving the new bigger shop because it allows us to offer more quality accessories for you and your cycling loved ones. Functional and fashionable apparel is one such category that we’ve been waiting to explore, and we’re excited to show you what we’ve got.

We found some great values on Funkier jerseys for both men and women as well as an excellent pair of men’s baggy shorts. These are top quality items at closeout prices. Funkier is launching their 2015 lineup so these styles are priced to move.

With the colder weather upon us a warm pair of riding gloves is essential. The Aquilo Fall Gloves from Planet Bike are a good choice for keeping those pinkies warm without sacrificing a solid feel on the controls.

Finally, we’re very excited about this latest product from Seattle - RockiNoggins helmet covers. The founder of the company is an emergency room nurse who, after seeing more than her share of serious helmet-less bicycle crash injuries, decided to do something about it. Most people who do NOT wear a helmet when riding make that choice based on the aesthetics, or lack thereof, of standard bicycle helmets.

With RockinNoggins covers you can make much more of a fashion statement, you can keep your head warmer and drier, and most importantly you can feel good about strapping on your helmet. They attach easily to all types of bicycle helmets and can be transferred from one helmet to another when necessary. If these covers facilitate more people wearing a helmet more of the time then we consider them a resounding success.

So, come see what’s new in the “lookin’ good - feelin’ good” department at Ashland Electric Bikes. You’ll be glad you did.
