We are very impressed with the fundamental design of these bikes. The placement of the removable battery in the down tube provides a well balanced bike with a low center of gravity. Its also the lightest bike in the shop at 46 lbs! The 350 watt geared motor delivers a reasonable amount of power and a top speed of 20 mph. The Recreational model has a low step through frame design with swept back handlebars for an upright and relaxed riding position.

The motor is whisper quiet and smooth as glass. It feels like a very high quality unit. The Samsung battery unit pops in and out of the frame with ease. Shimano 7-speeds and powerful disc brakes handle the basics of the ride. Both manual throttle and pedal assist are available via a very nice large display unit centrally mounted on the handlebars – a rarity at this price point. The bike will support a rear rack along with panniers or baskets which makes it capable of serving full duties including carrying capabilities.

The GenZe bikes present a clean, somewhat spartan appearance yet offer all the important features of an electric bike. The functionality of the in-frame battery cannot be overstated.
